When the CEO of Angel Medical Center in Franklin, North Carolina
first spoke with Clinical Colleagues, he was experiencing a significant crisis in the makeup of
his anesthesia team. The provider group received a virtual "no confidence" vote by the surgical
staff resulting in the incumbent anesthesia group terminating their agreement within thirty days,
leaving the hospital without an anesthesia provider group. The final departure of the
anesthesiologists was scheduled to occur on the July 4th holiday, and the hospital faced
the prospect of not having anesthesia coverage for several weeks. Clinical Colleagues
developed a customized proposal that provided a swift response to staffing needs coupled
with the flexibility the CEO required. Clinical Colleagues was rapidly awarded the
contract and provided one full-time anesthesiologist and four anesthetists within four weeks
of July 4th. A permanent Chief of Anesthesia plus one additional staff anesthesiologist
were expediently recruited, with both providers commencing services within thirty days
of the contract start. The start-up of this contract is an example of the flexibility,
resourcefulness, and responsiveness of Clinical Colleagues. The final outcome was
that Angel Medical Center and Clinical Colleagues finished a complete
"reconstruction" of its anesthesia services within a sixty-day period.

When Angleton Danbury Medical Center wanted to start a Hospitalist program,
they turned to Clinical Colleagues because of our expertise in working with smaller rural hospitals. The traditional,
one-size-fits-all staffing models offered by other Hospitalist groups were too expensive. And trying to build a
quality Hospitalist program internally presented significant recruiting challenges in a rural community.
Clinical Colleagues took a consultative approach to help ADMC envision a Hospitalist program that met
the needs of the hospital, primary care physicians, and patient community. Additionally, we went
straight to work identifying qualified Hospitalist candidates who fit the culture of the hospital
and community, and successfully started the Hospitalist service with a full-time physician team.
Today, patients and families enjoy the accessibility of their Hospitalists, and we have earned
the trust of the primary care physicians, allowing them to dedicate more time to their practices.
Additionally, the Hospitalists enjoy a higher quality of life and the feeling of making a difference in a "hometown" community.
The result has been a win for everyone.
